We analyze some of the neighbourhood and popular places that marks the emblem of Monaco.
Monaco is the second smallest country in the world and one of the most desirable place. Living in Monaco means enjoying the safest destination in Europe, the glorious French Riviera weather and the glamorous restaurants and bars. Even though the cost of living might seem high, with preferable tax condition and an extremely high quality of life that makes it a worth experience. Below, please find a breakdown of the different neighbourhood and what they offer. They are in no particular order, just enjoy!
1. Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher)
Monaco-Ville also known as "Le Rocher," because of the rock that it sits on and that stick out into the sky with the history district which is the only area of Monaco that have retained its charming old town. Living in Monaco-Ville offers interesting Baroque architecture in all of Monaco with easy access to the port and the centre of the country, whether you are by car/bus or by walking.
2. Monte-Carlo
You can find the famous Golden Square or Carré d'Or, in this central area of Monaco, with restaurants, bars, shops, luxury hotels, alongside the famous and must-see Casino de Monte-Carlo with its famous "Place du Casino." If you love the heart of the action and want to experience the luxury side of Monaco than the place is for you. The cost of living will be a little higher due to inflated property prices, but it is worth the location and the experience.
3. La Condamine
Located right above the port, La Condamine is the traditional Monaco at its finest. Residents and tourists can enjoy "Le Marché de la Condamine" that sells local products and you can also find some shopping on Rue Grimaldi. The property here are defined by traditional external architecture combined with luxurious and modern interiors. Most buildings are state-of-the-art apartments and the most recent ones will include a swimming pool and a 24/7 concierge.
4. Larvotto/Saint Roman
Both of these areas, regardless of how close they are, with cost of living that are high and in the perfect spot of the Mediterranean Sea among other areas in Monaco. Saint Roman, known as La Rousse, overlook Larvotto and the stunning sea and in easy walking distance of the seaside shops and the beaches. Not all Saint Roman properties are as expensive as the Tour Odeon's famous penthouse suite.
The Larvotto has one of its most expensive streets, Avenue Princesse Grace, said to be one of the most expensive in the world for real estate. If you want to experience the waterfront then this is for you. Renovations are underway and set to be finished by 2022, and it will make the area more desirable upon completion.
5. Fontvieille
A modern neighbourhood has a recent addition to Monaco, build on the sea to make space for a new, and beautiful place. It features the Stade Louis II, the Roseraie Princess Grace, the heliport and more, known for its peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. This is a great area to grow up, especially with children, with plenty of choices and quiet residential streets and places.
6. Jardin Exotique
The Jardin Exotique name comes from the botanical garden within the district, the area offers breathtaking views at every turn, on the cliffside, just above the sea. Another great area for families and wildlife lovers, with stunning residential district. The Parc Princesse Antoinette is a great place for kids, that offers activities, such as mini-golf, with great access to schools and easy access in and out of Monaco.
